What is it?
I made a hover craft out of a CD, balloon and pop up cap. The main physics concept involved is friction and how air resistance affects it.
How it works?
To make the hovercraft, a pop up cap must be glued to a CD. The cap I used was for laundry detergent. Then, a blown-up balloon is placed over the closed cap. When the cap is closed, no air escapes the balloon and the CD does not move far because of friction. When the cap is opened and the CD is pushed, it moves freely because the air being from the balloon reduces the friction with the floor.
