What is it?
This wave machine is consists of duct tape, gummy bears, and kebab sticks. I started by setting up two chairs apart from each other. I then put a piece of duct tape between them, with it being taped down to the ends of the chair. I then put one gummy bear at each end of kebab sticks. Once the kebab sticks were made, I put them onto the line of duct tape with them being spread roughly an equal distance apart.
I encountered a problem, however, when all the kebab sticks were placed on the tape. When I tried to create tension, the chairs kept pulling towards each other. In order to fix this, I put weights on the floor in front of the legs of the chair. All of this objects created a finished product, a wave machine.

How does it work?
Once one gummy bear is lifted up, a wave goes back and forth along the duct tape. This is simply energy being transferred from one end to the other. The tape twists at the first gummy bear lifted, then moves on to the following one progressively until the end. The weights, the gummy bears, at the end of the kebab sticks are what allow the wave to be seen; they control its speed. So, the greater the mass of the weights on the end of the kebab sticks, the slower the wave and vice versa. Amplitude is controlled by how high the weight is pulled up in the air. The higher up its pulled, the greater the amplitude and vice versa.
